Our Instructional Design Philosophy
We teach and train you concisely given that many are short of time or attention. But more importantly, we optimise our instructional content to satisfy your learning objectives. You will find that we write no-frills, compact, and direct-to-the-point content in both our learn and practice courses. We can do so because we leverage your existing knowledge, prior experience, practical judgment and even common sense. You will feel accomplished when you pass our assessments or practice tests because we tap into higher levels of learning (i.e. Bloom Taxonomy's apply, analyze, evaluate and create) to encourage or hone your independent and critical thinking.
You will get immediate feedback on your learning with our in-lesson bite quizzes and post-lesson comprehensive learning checks in our eCPD Learn courses and test exercises in our eCPD Practice courses . Not least, you will learn through our engaging and interactive user experience, interaction with eCPD students and tutors, and a variety of study resources (e.g. including interactive videos, webinars, mock exams, and live coaching) both from our own courses and other leading eCPD Partner providers
All these we make using the wisdom of Gagne's Principles of Instructional Design.
Your Self-Directed Learning
In some knowledge and skill areas, we can learn without instruction as we employ our innate abilities to know and do matters of need, desire or interest. But instruction aids and facilitates learning.
From when we were young, we learn from our parents and teachers as well as from our own experience and curiosities. As we grow, build careers or start businesses, we are initiated, supported and sustained by education from pre-school through college studies and thereafter professional training.
For some, learning stops. Formal learning even stops altogether. But for others, the need to learn is continued by the need to grow our careers, even change them. And for some others still, just for sheer enjoyment and pleasure.
We, at eCPD Academy, truly believe that you should keep learning too and, if so, we would like to contribute to your continuous life-long learning. This is now especially easier as, in the age of Internet, we can learn anything online, anytime and anywhere, and at no or minimal cost. You just need to want or need it or be a driven and motivated self-directed learner.
